About Skellefteå Municipality
Skellefteå Municipality, in northern Sweden, is one of Scandinavia’s more progressive regions and is experiencing rapid development tied to the green transition. Within the municipality, the IT and Operational Development Department oversees IT services across municipal departments. They also support affiliated organizations such as local bus companies, museums, and cultural centers.
The Solution: Centralized Monitoring, Logging, and Alerts with Nodinite

At the end of 2023, Skellefteå started using Nodinite to establish reliable integration monitoring and logging, including alert notifications when integrations fail. Today, Nodinite monitors approximately 20 integrations on the IBM platform, with a roadmap to increase coverage over time.
This is what Nodinite provided:
- Reliable monitoring + logging for IBM platform integrations
- Alerting on failures to speed response
- A platform approach designed to scale into other integration areas (TEIS + RPA)
Polygon Group uses two core pillars of Nodinite:
- Monitoring
- Logging

Results: Trust, Speed, and Scalability
1) Logged and monitored integrations (100% visibility)
With Nodinite, Skellefteå moved from limited insight to full visibility—enabling faster detection and resolution of potential issues.
2) Maintaining trust and reliability across the organization
A reliable monitoring/logging capability helps the IT and Operational Development Department build confidence internally—making it easier to justify onboarding additional integrations to the platform with proper oversight in place.
3) Planning to expand the use of Nodinite
What began as a focused fix evolved into a broader strategy: expand Nodinite into other areas (including servers and other IT systems) and potentially to other teams beyond the department.
4) A scalable support tool to prevent future ticket overload
By adopting Nodinite early, Skellefteå is proactively preparing for a larger integration footprint—reducing the risk that troubleshooting and incident handling become unmanageable as volume grows.
5) A strategic, unified approach to IT governance
Implementing Nodinite supports a broader “holistic” IT strategy—positioning the municipality to standardize and scale how integrations are supervised as Skellefteå continues to grow.
Looking ahead
Skellefteå’s long-term plan is to expand Nodinite from ~20 IBM integrations to include ~200 TEIS integrations and ~20 RPA processes, while also enabling more role-based access so additional teams (like support) can resolve basic issues independently.
